The next generation of biotech innovators is getting a head start at ASU.

The inaugural cohort of 28 students in ASU’s McKenna Life Sciences, Business and Entrepreneurship Program recently explored the future of health care through industry mentorship, immersive virtual reality experiences and tours of Mayo Clinic labs.

By combining life sciences, business and entrepreneurship, the program is preparing students to turn innovative ideas into real-world solutions.

Demo Day is calling.📱🔥

What is Demo Day? It’s ASU’s premier venture-pitching competition, 10 years in the making!

Every spring and fall, members of the Venture Devils program come together to pitch their ventures for the chance to win thousands of dollars in funding.

The most recent top winner took home $47,000 to help grow his venture. But funding isn’t the only benefit. Participants gain real-world pitching experience as they present their business plans, ideas and prototypes to a panel of judges.

At Demo Day, you don’t just get to pitch. You become part of a community that can help you build your confidence, expand your connections and prepare for the world of entrepreneurship.

Paseo Academy is bringing hands-on technology into the classroom through a new Verizon Innovative Learning Lab.

Meet day 4 Open Pitch Week winner, Miriam Mbuvi!

She pitched Mwangaza Safety, a safety app that looks and functions like a calculator. When activated, it discreetly sends SOS messages with location data and brief audio recordings to the user’s chosen emergency contacts.

Meet Ethelmaria Khwatenge, the day 3 winner of Open Pitch Week!

Ethelmaria pitched the Oka4School Therapy Baking Initiative, a student-led venture designed to help reduce high school dropout rates by addressing financial barriers to education and supporting students’ mental well-being.

Participants develop practical skills in baking, customer service, business management and marketing while gaining access to counseling, mentorship and other forms of support.

Congratulations, Ethelmaria, and thank you for your efforts to help students build their skills, well-being and educational opportunities.
