Dr. Nicole Zmuda, Marywood MSW alumni and Board of Directors Member of NEPA Pride, recently joined our Saturday Social Policy Advocacy class to share insights on policy advocacy from an organizational/mezzo perspective.

Throughout the semester, students explored and actively engaged in policy advocacy across the micro, mezzo, and macro levels, bringing classroom concepts to life in meaningful ways. ✨📢📝

The Lehigh Valley MSW Program Coordinator, Sue Lettera, is pictured with members of the Steering Committee for the Lehigh Valley Health and Human Services Job Fair.

In addition to Sue, members of the Committee include people from Magellan Behavioral Health, Lehigh and Northampton County DHS administrators, Penn State Lehigh Valley and Community Agency representatives.

This annual event was launched 4 years ago as a way to assist Lehigh Valley community agencies recruit needed staff, as well as offer opportunities for local college students to explore employment opportunities throughout the Lehigh, Northampton, Monroe and Bucks County area in the health and human services sector. 💼🎓🌱

📍This year's event was held at the Palmer Park Mall in Easton and hosted over 150 job seekers! ✨👏

New partnership alert! 🚨

The Marywood University School of Social Work recently partnered with Tsunami Self Defense Systems to deliver a two-day “Safety in Practice” seminar for BSW students.
This training focused on personal protection and de-escalation strategies for workplace safety and violence mitigation.

We extend our sincere thanks to Robert and the incredible TSDS team, along with the staff at Roll Call, for sharing such valuable and life-saving knowledge with our students.

We’re excited to keep building on this partnership and integrate these essential skills into future learning experiences!
