The University of Scranton Italian Society wishes you all the best on this Columbus Day Weekend. As we celebrate the importance Italians have played since the discovery of our very nation to our present day. The Italian American experience has been incredible since the discovery of our Nation by Christopher Columbus’s brave voyage across the Atlantic to the new world. To our contemporary society where many Influential Italian Americans across a broad spectrum of diverse disciplines continue to help our nation thrive and hold hegemony on the Global stage. From Art to Business to Medicine. In Law Politics and Government. In the Sciences, Humanities and in Education. And in all fields countless Italian-Americans have left a lasting legacy that has forever improved our nation.

During this Italian-American heritage month we celebrate the countless stories of Italian-Americans. And celebrate our pride in our rich diverse heritage.

On this month of Celebration of Italian-Americans. We implore you all to celebrate your cultural roots by enjoying while expanding your own knowledge on our culture. This request is imperative to keep our culture alive yet as easy as enjoying a meal with your family members and listening to them as they share their own unique story. So on this occasion of Italian-American heritage month we invite you all to enjoy some delicious food, and listen to the many stories of our elders. So that we may keep our beautiful traditions, and monumental legacy alive for the next generation, and many to come.
