Healthy Relationships Week begins tomorrow! Meet Jasmine, our VP of Philanthropy :)
Hi everyone! My name is Jasmine Jonas and I am the Vice President of Philanthropy for the Rho Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. Our philanthropy is domestic violence awareness, and I want to introduce myself with healthy relationships week starting tomorrow! I chose to undertake this position because unhealthy relationships can completely derail the lives of men and women. Not only are unhealthy relationships toxic and leave lasting marks, but they can easily escalate into abuse. The spectrum of abuse includes, but is not limited to: physical, sexual, verbal, and emotional abuse. I want to educate individuals in order to prevent this escalation.
Too often love is mistaken for attachment and/ or fear. Education on healthy relationships can uncover signs and empower individuals to leave as soon as those red flags are visible. During the month of February, we will be fundraising for through Crowd Change. The link is in the AXO Instagram bio and will also be down below. They are a Seattle-based foundation that prioritizes providing survivors with temporary housing in order to escape dangerous situations, as well as therapy and other resources to help families and those affected get back on their feet.
