Softball Post Mortem-

Thanks to everyone for coming out. We had a less than stellar turn out, but we were able to field two sides and play a highly competitive game that involved some passionate discourse. Next year we'll have to implement a social after every inning to cool some of these fires down :)

The Alumni were able to take the match after a hard fought last inning. The undergrads ran rampant scoring more runs in the last inning than both teams had up to that point combined. Luckily, due to a bare handed open field diving catch by yours truly, the damage was stimmied and the big bats of the alumni were able to come from behind and put some serious points up to bring the W home. Better luck next year actives.

The weather cooperated after threatening to cloud up and rain and we had a beautiful day in the sun. New this year we brought a grill and were able to grill up some burgers and hot dogs. We had some serious growing pains, but we're moving in the right direction and I look forward to next years softball game, where hopefully we'll have better participation which will allow us to improve the quality of the event overall. Additionally, I'll focus on planning these a little more in depth to prevent the last minute scramble we had this year.

Once again, thanks to everyone for coming. I had a great time and I hope you did as well. Pictures to come soon once we find who has them.

Upcoming Events:

Emerald Downs: July 28th, Approx Noonish-9PMish

The cost for the event will be 20$ each and will cover the gas for the ride down as well as beverages for tailgating. Remember, we need your (financial) support to enable NWGA to have the funds to host these events and pay for things , so just shut up and pay the 20$. I suggest getting a groupon for entry. The event for the 28th is "Dollar Night/ Breakfast@ the wire/ Ride for racehorses" but nothing additional has been posted about it.

We'll be meeting at the Burke museum (same as last year), so show up!

Founders Day: Nov 10th Nile Golf Course
Details still getting worked out, but date, time and venue are booked, so mark it on your calendar

Thanks everyone for coming to Softball. Remember to send me cash if you haven't already paid for Saturday. I'll be putting you on blast in the next email if I don't receive payment by the time I leave for Detroit Sunday. We're all adults here, lets act like it :)

Charitos Alumni Dinner is next month. It is open to all alumni regardless of whether you donate to Charitos or not. It's a great time and the events are usually top class, so pencil it down on your calendar!

Hi all,

I want to thank you all for coming out to Bowling last weekend. We had a great time. We had 13 people show up, so thanks to all of you!

I also want to take this post to mention a new type of event NWGA will be sending your way soon. We will still have our 4 quarterly official events (Spring Bowling, Summer Softball, Fall'ish ED, Founders Day), but we will also be doing some "Do Your Own Planning" or DYOP events.

The intent of these events is to have people who will be doing an event anyway (like going to the opera, or going to a baseball game) share that through NWGA and allow fellow brothers to join them. This reduces the stress of planning, reduces budgeting or quota concerns, and allows us to have more events. Feel no pressure to attend any of these events, but we hope you do!

The first of these "planned" DYOP events is Ocean Fishing on August XXth (date being hashed out). Please see the below event post for more information! The spots (the boat holds 20) are reserved for 2 weeks. If, after two weeks, there are still available spots the remaining boat spots will open to the public, so make sure you get your spot early.

NWGA is now set up to accept Zelle payments as an additional option to pay. If you have any questions about Zelle, the documentation can be found here: https://www.zellepay.com/

Zelle can be used through most major banking institutions. For information about how to set zelle up, see the above link, or log into your online or mobile banking and look for the "transfer", "send money", or "send money through Zelle" tab or button.

The number is 208-610-9464. Some institutions require you add a "first and last name" when sending money, you can input any value you want here as it's not tied to the account, but I'd suggest "Northwest Graduate Association" so you are aware of what it actually is.
