Society of Professional Journalists, UW Chapter We're the University of Washington student chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. This is the Society of Professional Journalists, UW chapter.

Whether you're a alumnus, a UW student, or a journalist, we're here to help. We post about job openings around the state, scholarships you can apply for, and events you should go to (typically free for an SPJ member). Some events are even all-expenses paid, across the country trips if you apply and get a pass to go. We hold elections at the end of every year, for the following year, so if you'd li

Join us this Friday on May 30th from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at HUB 238 for our Annual Excellence in Journalism & Media Award Ceremony! 🙌

We’ll be announcing our journalism contest winners and giving out prizes/certificates!
Afterward, there will be time to play board games and mingle to celebrate the end of the year.

We will also be introducing our 2025-2026 executive board! 🎉

Can’t make it? No worries! We will follow up with our winners via email to arrange an alternate way of getting your prize/certificate to you! 🗞️

- Open to ALL UW students from all 3 campuses
- Only published work will be accepted (yes, campus media counts!)
- Winners will receive a surprise gift and an official certificate!
