This spring the Alpha Delta Chapter's alumni housing corporation was awarded Housing Corporation of the Year by the Pi Kappa Phi National Organization! The Alpha Delta Housing Corporation continuously provides the chapter with an amazing fraternal experience and maintains working relationships between themselves, the chapter, and the chapter advisor by holding weekly meetings to discuss finances and housing improvement projects. The corporation works together with the chapter’s Treasurer to make sure they are operating within budget, continuing to improve the property and have the correct resources when undertaking improvement projects. By consistently communicating with the undergraduate chapter, they have built a relationship of trust and respect.

Thank you to our Housing Corporation for all the amazing work they do for us, and we look forward to all that the undergraduates and alumni will be able accomplish in the future!

As many already know, Covid-19 has had a significant impact on our medical system. Front line worker’s ability to acquire the PPE necessary for them to carry out their lifesaving work has become one of that main issues facing our country. One of our own members, Chase Habu-Chinn, has been working with Maker Mask ( )which is an organization that utilizes 3D printing capabilities to make respirator masks for these first responders. These masks are the first of their kind, NIH certified and made entirely from supplies that can be found in nearly any hardware store. Chase’s actions embody the values and standards of community service that all of us at Pi Kappa Phi strive to attain. Keep up the great work Chase!

Congratulations to our very own Jack Fox on being recognized as the IFC Chapter Officer of the Year! Jack’s contributions to Pi Kapps as Alpha Delta’s Treasurer serve as a great leadership model for all members of our house, displaying great accountability, initiative, and integrity. Jack has inspired countless members of our house to strive to become better leaders within our chapter and community, setting an excellent example of how to stay involved throughout the entirety of their time as undergraduates.

Pi Kappa Phi’s national philanthropy, The Ability Experience, is focused around creating awareness and raising funds for those with disabilities. Through fundraising and volunteer hours, the organization is able to create a community where the abilities of all people are recognized and valued. During these unprecedented times, the disability community has experienced elevated barriers to access and increased social isolation in their daily lives. Furthermore, many Ability Experience programs have been forced to be canceled and campus closures have greatly reduced fundraising efforts, negatively affecting all partners of the organization.

To adapt to the times, The Ability Experience has organized the inaugural Virtual Ability Week. This includes events ranging from a panel representing the disability community to a virtual fundraising challenge day. Check it out for ways you can participate, abilityexperience.org/programs/virtual-ability-week/.

During these tough times, financial support of the Ability Experience and its partners can go a long way. If you would like to support amazing work this organization does for the disability community each year, we invite you to donate on behalf of our chapter, at https://www.classy.org/team/151746.

We know these are tough times for many, but together we can continue to empower people of all abilities.

Pi Kappa Phi is extremely happy with our member’s academic successes this past winter quarter! With classes transitioning to online learning due to COVID-19 our members were able to make the necessary adjustments to excel in their courses. Additionally, we would also like to congratulate the whole Greek system on a great academic quarter! Let’s keep this trend rolling into the quarter and finish out the year strong!

Our next Senior Shoutout goes to Jake Wright! Jake will be graduating this year with a degree in Construction Management. After graduation Jake plans to work for Turner Construction as a project manager!

In his time with the fraternity Jake has served as Kitchen and Risk-Management Chair, serving as a great example to others about giving back to our chapter while in the house. Pi Kapps is extremely grateful for everything he has contributed to our fraternity, and we are all extremely excited to see him succeed in his future endeavors!
