We have an exciting new student group! Public Speaking in the Built Environments (PSBE)

Dedicated to strengthening verbal communication and public speaking skills for all CBE students. PSBE is a space to practice public speaking — a skill essential to every CBE major. Many students struggle to effectively communicate their ideas during high pressure moments: final presentations, crits, juries, and group leadership. PSBE is a place to develop their those skills, learn from professionals, and prepare for a career where how you speak about your work is just as important as the work itself.

Students participating in the Architecture in Berlin Program recently spent the night at the Prellerhaus at Bauhaus Dessau. Waking up in the student dormitory whose form and spaces have shaped so much of how we think about architecture and design was a very special experience.

We’re proud to share that Rick Mohler has been named an ACSA 2026 Architectural Education Award Winner.

As department chair, Rick’s leadership has helped shape how we teach, learn, and show up for one another, from community-engaged work to the student organizations that make this department what it is. We’re grateful for his steady support, curiosity, and care for the next generation of architects.
