Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine

Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine The Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine (SIEAM) is a fully accredited graduate program offering training in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.

We are located at 6363 7th Ave S, Seattle WA 90108 The Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine (SIEAM) is a fully accredited graduate program in East-Asian medicine. We offer a Doctoral degree in East-Asian medicine (includes acupuncture, East-Asian bodywork, and Chinese herbal medicine), a Master’s degree in East-Asian medicine, and a Master’s degree in acupuncture. Since 1994, SIEAM has been co

mmitted to training students to become effective healthcare providers through a rigorous program of apprenticeship-style clinical training. We rely on experienced clinicians with a minimum of ten years of their own clinical experience to guide our student interns towards their shared goal of independent practice. This goal is also met by keeping our class sizes small and through the one-on-one interactions of our teachers with each of our students. Graduates of our program remain actively engaged in clinical practice at a rate that far exceeds the national average for our profession.”

Feeling Qi 🌀
In Points & Channels class, our first year students were invited to rub their hands together, hold them in front of the body, and notice what they felt.

Warmth? Tingling? Magnetism?

This is one simple way we begin exploring the experience of qi through the body. ✨

Try it yourself — can you feel the qi?

What a beautiful day of community care 💛

Thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday to support Daniel and his family. Because of this incredible community, we raised $1,500 to help support them during this time.

We also had the joy of seeing 26 patients throughout the day — including 10 new patients visiting SIEAM for the very first time ✨

Daniel sends his sincere gratitude to everyone 🌿

We are so excited to share this new offering✨

What You Will Build:
Beginning fall 2026, the program runs for 16 weeks, meeting Wednesday evenings, 6:00–8:30 PM PT, + three hours of individual coaching. Enrollment is capped at 24 participants. You will develop a working business portfolio.

The deliverables include:
* A business model tailored to your clinical interests and practice context, not a generic template
* A pricing and cost structure, including what you actually need to earn to cover your costs and pay yourself
* A patient acquisition strategy and the beginning of a referral network
* A 90-day action plan for the period immediately after you complete the program
* A two-year cash flow projection, and the working knowledge to read and update it as your practice changes.

The program also includes two sessions on the psychological dimension of financial management: one on financial trauma, one on belief work. These are during scheduled class time. Most practitioners do not avoid financial planning because they lack information. They avoid it because of how it feels, this program addresses that directly.

You will do this work alongside peers who are solving the same problems. This provides built-in support for learning and putting what you learn into practice!

Learning anatomy here at SIEAM goes beyond textbook memorization - students develop the sensitivity to be able to feel the structures beneath the surface.

Here a student is practicing rib and vertebral counting to locate important anatomical landmarks and acupuncture points along the back!
