SUNY Suffolk is proud to announce that it will honor the new SUNY military tuition rate for active service members. The new system-wide initiative will ensure SUNY's academic excellence is fully affordable for active-duty service members, members of the National Guard, and members of the Reserves. The program addresses a long-standing challenge faced by active service members whose federal tuition assistance often falls short of full tuition at public universities.

President Edward Bonahue said, "Suffolk County Community College is proud to be one of the first SUNY campuses to offer the new Military Tuition Rate. Our college has a long history of supporting service members and veterans, and we currently enroll more veterans than any other SUNY institution. This new military tuition award builds on our commitment, making it even easier for active-duty military, National Guard members, and Reservists to achieve their educational goals. We're honored to help lead the way in expanding access to a SUNY education for those who serve our country."

At the groundbreaking ceremony for our forthcoming Empire Automotive Group Technology Center yesterday, we were also excited to accept a $5,000 sponsorship from the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association for program support for the new building. Joining college representatives were Tom Lederer, Jack Weidinger, Michael Brown and Ed Gazzillo.

Each year, the Suffolk Community College Foundation awards hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships for incoming, continuing and transferring Suffolk students. Scholarships may be based on academics, community involvement, or other criteria. Most only require a short application and explanation of why you think you should receive the scholarship. Trick-or-Treat
Be sure to bring a bag to collect all your goodies as you make your way through the activities, demonstrations, and crafts. You’ll have plenty of treats and treasures to take home by the end of the night!
Astronomical Observing
We’ll have telescopes set up for you to view incredible celestial objects like planets, galaxies, and nebulae. Our students and faculty will guide you through the night sky and help you explore the wonders of the universe.
Hands-On Activities
Dive into interactive, hands-on activities that let you explore science up close. Here are a few examples of what you can do:
Make your own ice cream and learn about the science that goes into creating this delicious treat.
Learn how craters form on the moon with a hands-on activity that brings planetary science to life.
Experiment with pH levels and discover the chemistry behind different substances.
Live Science Demonstrations
Watch as our students and faculty perform a series of exciting science experiments! These live demonstrations will bring science to life in fun and surprising ways that are sure to amaze and inspire.
Arts & Crafts
Get creative with a variety of science and Halloween-themed crafts that are perfect for all ages. Make something spooky, scientific, or just plain fun to take home!
Fun for All Ages

Don't miss this year's Science After Dark event tomorrow from 5 - 9 PM on the Ammerman Campus in Selden. Hosted by the Ammerman Campus Physical Sciences Department, with support from the Office of Campus Activities and Student Leadership, this FREE, family-friendly, Halloween-themed science event will feature hands-on activities, arts and crafts, experiments, and telescope observing.
