Kappa Omega

Kappa Omega With around 30 girls in the 2013-2014 school year, our women consistently establish themselves on campus as conductors in all aspects of Sewanee life.

Kappa Omega sorority, founded in 1999, prides itself upon being an inclusive, joyous group of women dedicated to the principles of leadership and service to others. In addition to our service to the Sewanee community, KO prides itself upon claiming one of the highest sorority GPAs on campus, a record we have consistently upheld since the conception of the group. Almost every member of Kappa Omega

is a gownsman! KO alumnae are actively and positively involved in sorority life, and are constantly returning to the mountain to help out with events or simply hang out for the weekend. They are successful entrepreneurs in their fields and share amongst them a love of KO that goes unmatched by any other sorority. Community service is a central aspect of sorority life, and KO women are heavily involved in their Sewanee community. The sorority is planning to partner with the Sewanee Community Action Center as their chosen official service organization, but this is not where the service stops -- we are additionally involved with Grundy County High School tutoring and the Animal Harbor shelter. Kappa Omega women go above and beyond the requirements of the ISC when it comes to community service, a fact we pride ourselves on. Although it is only the fall, KO is excited about rush and welcoming new girls to the mountain. We love hosting events like "Around the World", "Kappaccino" and "Kappa Luau". KOs are all around campus and feel free to ask any one of them about how much they love their sorority. Some activities Kappa Omega women are involved in:

Hi I’m Kelly Walker I’m a junior from St. Augustine Florida. I’m really excited to serve as co-social chair along with Georgia! I’m a neuroscience major with minors in biology and chemistry on a pre-med track. I’m also on the softball team and I do research in the neuroscience department. I’m so excited get back on the mountain and meet all the potential new members!

Hey! I’m L-A and I am Assistant Social chair and Social Media Manager for KO. I’m from Lake Tahoe, Nevada and I will be a sophomore this year. I am on the equestrian team at Sewanee and in choir as well. In my free time I like to read, ski (snow and water!) hike, go to the gym, watch YouTube, and visit the horses and the goats. ✨Introducing our Exec Board! ✨ Hello! My name is Georgia Fleming (c’24) and I am Kappa Omega’s rush chair and social chair. This is my second year in these positions and I’m so excited for what the upcoming year will bring! I am an economics major and music minor and a part of the sewanee symphony orchestra where I play the cello. In my free time I love attending concerts and making my own music. See you all in the Fall!

Howdy! I’m Sarabeth and I’m a junior from Chattanooga, Tennessee. I’m serving as the co-rush chair for the upcoming semester. I’m a biology major on the ecology track, and I also play in the school’s orchestra and jazz band. I play a few instruments, but saxophone and oboe are my main ones. Music has been a part of my life for years, and I enjoy being able to continue that at Sewanee. A fun fact about me is that I have successfully broken every limb at least once. I can’t wait to spent the next year with Kappa Omega!
