🎶 Calling all high school vocalists! 🎶

Each year, some of the best high school singers from across the country audition for Concordia University, Nebraska’s National Honor Choir. Selected students spend the day on campus working alongside Concordia music faculty and students through high-energy clinics and rehearsals, culminating in an acclaimed 4 p.m. concert at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, Neb.

✨ New this year! Honor Choir participants are invited to join us for a special Concordia Visit Day on Thursday, Nov. 5. Explore campus, hear from faculty and staff, enjoy lunch in the dining hall, attend chapel and learn more about academics, admissions, campus life and financial aid. Chaperones and group leaders are welcome, too!

Auditions due: Sept. 15
$50 registration fee for selected participants
Overnight housing available for students traveling from a distance
Concert: Nov. 6 at 4 p.m.

🎶 Meet Lydia Boehne! 🎶

Lydia is from El Paso, Illinois, and was homeschooled before coming to Concordia! She chose Concordia for music because of its Lutheran background and church music program.

🎶 Vocal Jazz is hitting the road! 🎶

The Concordia Nebraska Vocal Jazz Choir kicks off its 2026–27 season with a Sept. 11–13 tour through Nebraska and South Dakota!

The choir will open the weekend performing at the Orphan Grain Train International Convention in Norfolk before sharing music at churches in Norfolk, Yankton and Columbus.

🎶 Meet Emily Christman! 🎶

Emily is a Church Music major from Fort Myers, Florida, and after being homeschooled her whole life, she’s excited to begin this new chapter at Concordia!

Emily chose Concordia because of its strong Church Music program and the encouraging environment within the music department. Even after only being here for about a week, she has already experienced how kind and supportive the professors are and how uplifting the entire music department is. 💙

When she’s not making music, you might find Emily listening to Duruflé’s Prélude, adagio, et choral varié sur le “Veni Creator” on repeat! 🎹

This year, Emily is especially excited to grow as an organist, learn new repertoire, and dive deeper into music theory; including learning the ins and outs of music notation and getting to work with Dorico. 🎼💻

We’re so excited to have Emily here and can’t wait to see how God works through her gifts and music during her time at Concordia! 💙🎶

Registration is open! Pianists in grades 8-12, we hope you can join us on Monday, October 12 for our second annual Piano Day.

Join us for Piano Day! An exciting opportunity for high school pianists! The days events will include masterclasses, instructional sessions and a recital by Concordia Nebraska musicians. Open to
