Dr. Erica Lamm has a first generation college student and came to teach at Concordia because of the community, relationships, and the faith institution. Listening is her main area of research and expertise. She’s an assistant to the speech program which is one of the best parts of her job. The more important part of her job is to build relationships with students through one on one interactions. She strives to advance in rank to associate professor, which is her personal goal at Concordia.

Lighthouse Cune is the on campus chapter of IJM to raise awareness and money to fight human trafficking and s*x trafficking. They started in 2015 but became a club this year and are completely self-funded. Some events they have done are the Walk for Freedom, Buy a Flower, and Freedom Week. Today they started their Threads event which goes until November 9th. Kirsten Wagner is a member of Lighthouse Cune and joined because not everyone realizes that this is going on everywhere and she wants to help people. She made a powerful statement that says “the first step to eradicating a problem is realizing and acknowledging there is a problem.” Follow their Facebook (Lighthouse: Illuminates to Liberate) and Instagram (lighthousecune) page for more information on Threads and their group overall!
