The Celebrating Business Luncheon brought together entrepreneurs of all ages to recognize the achievements of business leaders in the Seward community as well as aspiring leaders studying at Concordia. The Institute for Ethical Leadership would like to thank everyone who attended the event and helped make it such a special gathering!

As part of National Library Week, Concordia's Link Library welcomed students from St. John Lutheran School to come to the new children's reading area and enjoy artwork, lemonade, coloring, and reading time, facilitated by CUNE education majors. The younger students got to read the books that correspond with the artwork on display, and the older students got to apply the lessons they've learned about children's literacy. The Institute for Literacy thanks everyone who made this event possible!

The CLA’s Director Michael Sheer recently gave a presentation about liturgical art and its history to the members of the Pre-Seminary and Pre-Deaconess Club. The students greatly appreciated his expertise and enjoyed discussing how artwork of various kinds plays a part in our distinctly Lutheran worship.

It’s been the Institute for Literacy’s pleasure to support the improvement of Concordia’s Link Library, and this investment is already yielding great results! If you’re curious to see some of these improvements, come visit Link Library TOMORROW, April 21st from 11:30 –12:30 for an open house of the new children's reading area. Enjoy some lemonade, artwork, and a little bit of nostalgia! And bring the kids too!

Earlier this week, Concordia’s own Rev. Dr. Pete Jurchen presented at the Nebraska District Pastor’s Conference, discussing the topic “The Pastoral Task of Adult Education: Confession, Learning, and Congregational Life.” During the two-day conference, LCMS ministers from across Nebraska shared worship, meals, and fellowship together as they explored the pastor’s role in instructing disciples.
