In honor of Juneteenth, Penn State Shenango will be closed today, June 19.

What began as a celebration of the emancipation of slavery, Juneteenth — a combination of "June" and "nineteenth" — also known as Jubilation Day or Freedom Day, has become a holiday commemorating the end of slavery throughout the United States.
