Association of the Family Service Professionals at OBU In AFSP, we love to serve families! We feel called to showing Christ's love through serving others. We serve at a number of locations in Shawnee.

The first question which the priest and the Levite asked was: “If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?” But… the good Samaritan reversed the question: “If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?”

the past we have served organizations such as Primrose, Salvation Army, Family Promise, and Project Safe. We are thrilled to welcome new members this year and hear YOUR ideas on where to serve!

IF you are interested in going, this year's National Council on Family Relations conference is in Fort Worth. We will be taking a group of students. If any alumni want to go along, let me know and we will see what we can work out. If any of you live in the Fort Worth area, we would love to connect to you while we are around. NCFR won't likely be in Texas for many years in the future because some of its political decisions are contrary to California.

Yesterday, a few members from AFSP spent their afternoon sorting and organizing clothes for Project Safe, a non-profit organization that offers services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. While they were very grateful for the work that we did, they could still use a lot more help! If you would like to volunteer for an afternoon or two, you can contact Project Safe directly at 405-273-9953.

Hello friends! Just wanted to give a quick reminder: Our kickoff cookout is THIS THURSDAY at 6:30pm at Dr. Camp's house (the address in listed in the event on this page) and you DON'T want to miss it. :) There is also a meeting THIS FRIDAY at 10:00am in Shawnee 109. We'll be introducing the new officers, sharing our vision for this year, and getting an idea of what/where/who our current members are interested in serving this semester. We would LOVE to see you there!
