The Psychology Department is pleased to announce the hiring of a new tenure-track faculty member, Sarah Irons. She will begin the fall of 2026. Here she is in her own words:

I earned my PhD in Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience from Rice University in 2023. Since my graduation. I have worked at Hendrix College where I taught courses including Cognitive Neuroscience, Brain and Behavior, Psycholinguistics, Research Methods, and Introduction to Psychology. I’m looking forward to teaching similar classes at Austin College, as well as expanding into areas students are excited about, such as Neuropsychology. My research focuses on spoken language production, and I use approaches ranging from neuropsychology to psychoacoustics. I can’t wait to collaborate with Austin College students on research!

Hi all. I'm not sure WHAT happened to this page, but all sorts of posts from random advertisers and social media groups were appearing on the page. I have hidden them and changed the setting to that only I should be able to post. I'll keep things like that until I figure out more about why such posts started showing up. Thank you for your patience.
