One week ago, members of our chapter attended the final PPRS event of the semester at Ever Grain Brewing Company!

Jason Kirsch, principal of PRworks, moderated this “Ask Away: Information & Idea Exchange,” an interactive discussion designed to spark collaboration and idea-sharing among attendees. This marked PPRS’s third year hosting this unique, open-format event, encouraging meaningful conversation and connection between students and professionals.

It’s been a busy and rewarding week for PRSSA!

On Wednesday, our chapter attended the annual CJM Awards Dinner and the Student Life Awards Gala, where our members received lots of well-deserved recognition. 🏆 Most notably, our VP, Payton Shoenfelt, was awarded the 2026 Albert A. Mason, Sr. Journalism Award and was voted this year’s Outstanding Sophomore! 👏

Congratulations to our amazing members who were recognized this week, and huge thank you to all who made these events possible! ❤️💙

Thank you to everyone who supported our PRSSA chapter by coming to pie Luke and Payton. We had a blast with this fundraiser.

Reflecting on Networking Night 2026 📸

Last week, PRSSA’s annual Networking Night event brought students, alumni, and professionals together to connect. There were reunions, introductions, and everything in between, showcasing how strong our chapter’s network truly is.

For $2, you will have the option to pie our president, Luke Rainey, or our VP, Payton Shoenfelt. All funds raised will go towards the PRSSA Leadership Assembly cost and our chapter as a whole - it’s a win-win! 🤝

Our chapter learned about graphic design at this month’s PPRS event at Jo Jo’s Restaurant!

Lori Baker-Pizzarro and Rae Lynn Cox gave a presentation titled “More than Pretty Pictures: How Graphic Design Powers Strategic Communication.” The presentation included best practices and examples of effective graphic design, as well as its ability to enhance messaging goals.

Alumni make everything better! 🚢 Thom Casey and Rylee Swails from Ceisler Media & Issues Advocacy gave a presentation about themselves and the world of PR to our chapter on Tuesday, followed by an insightful group discussion.
