Join us this Friday to honor the 25th anniversary of 9/11, the first responders, and military service members who have protected our freedoms by answering our nation's call.

We will begin our celebration with a revitalizing of our POW/MIA memorial hosted by our student-led Red River Garden Club.

Later, we will hear firsthand accounts of the role Barksdale Air Force Base played during these tragic events. Refreshments will be served in the Collaboratory provided by the LSU Shreveport Chancellor.

We look forward to seeing you as we honor our nation's resolve. 🇺🇸🇺🇸

ICYMI we're debuting a new tradition next month!

We recently announced a new graduation tradition that honors our veterans and service members who cross the LSUS graduation stage. Starting with our Summer Class of 2026, the LSU Shreveport Veterans Resource Center will host a Military Coining Ceremony the day before each commencement ceremony where our service-connected students and their families are invited to campus to celebrate their achievement. 🇺🇸🎓

Thank you to all the military dependents. While we honor those that serve our country, it can be easy to overlook the sacrifices that service members' families make every day, from missing a parent for kids' soccer games, constantly moving/changing schools, to survivors of service members that made the ultimate sacrifice.

We want to say thank you to these families that support all our servicemembers on the home front every day! Thank you Bossier Chamber of Commerce for celebrating our local military dependents!

| While we celebrate military children year-round, this month gives special recognition to their incredible strength and .

Military-connected kids often move 6–9 times during their school years—continually adapting to new schools, friendships, and communities. Their flexibility, courage, and positive spirit deserve to be honored.

Today, the Bossier Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the 3,600 military-connected children in Northwest Louisiana by lighting the Texas Street Bridge purple at 7:30 p.m., following a proclamation at 6:30 p.m.

The 307th Bomb Wing is deeply grateful to the Bossier City and Shreveport communities for not only welcoming our , but for embracing and supporting our children as well.

If you plan to attend, wear purple and join us at the Louisiana Boardwalk riverfront for the proclamation. 💜
