Southern University at Shreveport (SUSLA) recently marked a historic milestone with the Inaugural Ceremony for the Dynastie Nicole Williams Legacy Center. This transformative initiative, established by Southern University alumni Tony and Tina Williams, who are the founders of The Williams Center for Undergraduate Student Achievement and parents of the late Dynastie Nicole Williams, marks a new chapter in the institution’s dedication to student success.

The Dynastie Nicole Williams Legacy Center serves as a beacon of empowerment, specifically designed to uplift young women. By fostering an environment rooted in excellence, scholarship, and mentorship, the center provides a dedicated space where students can connect, grow, and thrive.

The ceremony was a powerful testament to community and collective commitment. Dr. Aubra J. Gantt, Chancellor of SUSLA, extends heartfelt appreciation to all who contributed to the event’s success. We were honored by the presence and support of all guests, including Dr. Orlando F. McMeans, Interim President of the Southern University System; Southern University System Board of Supervisors members, Vice-Chair Mr. Reggie Abraham and Sheriff Henry L. Whitehorn Sr.;former SUSLA Chancellor Dr. Rodney Ellis; President of RGSB, Inc., Mr. Roy Griggs; and Mr. Alfred E. Harrell III, CEO of the Southern University System Foundation.

A special note of gratitude is extended to Dynastie Nicole Williams Legacy Center Inaugural Ceremony committee for their dedicated commitment to SUSLA's vision. Their tireless efforts and meticulous planning were instrumental in organizing this memorable ceremony, ensuring that every detail honored the vision behind the center.

We are deeply grateful to Tony and Tina Williams and their daughter, Alexis Medina, for their vision and unwavering partnership. Thank you to all the Dynastie Nicole Williams Legacy Center donors. Together, we celebrate the enduring legacy of Dynastie Nicole Williams and look forward to the bright, limitless future of the young women this center will inspire.
