This business is a concierge beekeeping service in which I will install and manage honey bee colonies on your property, as well as extract and bottle honey, without you having to lift a finger. All honey produced by the managed colonies on your property will go right back to you. On an avera
ge season, you can expect about 20-30 pounds of honey produced per colony, but this can vary greatly depending on the strength of the season. In addition to having honey from your own backyard, hosting honey bee colonies will make your garden more colorful, productive, and alive than ever before. I decided to form this business because I want to give those who are not able to put in the work to become beekeepers a way to connect with, understand, and experience the benefits of honey bees in ways they never have before. For new clients, I will start colonies in mid to late April. I got started in beekeeping through my involvement with cutting edge honey bee research at the United States Department of Agriculture and at the University of Maryland in College Park.
