Thanks to generous donations, Augustana University will be able to encourage more international study, support international students better, and deepen our commitment to teaching about the world.
We would love your support, too! Here are some of the projects that we are doing to help students and to make the world a better place. 👇
Research stipend for international students ➡️ As non-U.S. citizens, international students don’t qualify for most research grants. This fund helps worthy students conduct professor-assisted projects to create new knowledge.
Study abroad scholarships ➡️ Last year, we were able to fill only 50% of the requests for study away scholarships. Donations will make educational travel more affordable through $500 or $1000 scholarships.
International speaker series ➡️ Through guest speakers, we can bring the world to the campus. This fund subsidizes the travel costs so that invited speakers might share their ideas and experiences with the Augustana community.
Carbon sequestration ➡️ Augustana University offsets its January travel by supporting a nature preserve in Petén, Guatemala. The Indigenous-led community-based nonprofit Bio-Itzá uses the funds to conserve and replant this semitropical forest.
