Augustana's Critical Inquiry & Citizenship Colloquium was established in 2023 to promote civil discourse and deep reflection.

We think there's no better duo to showcase that than Drs. Robert P. George and Cornel West β€” distinguished scholars and leading voices in American public life. The two are known for their friendship and collaboration, as well as their commitment to principled dialogue across differences.

Join us for their keynote presentation on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. in the Elmen Center, with a book signing to follow.

Chasing the highest ceiling?!

Graduates need to look no farther than in the city Augustana calls home.

According to Indeed, ranks No. 25 in Best Cities for Work in 2026.

Many "best cities" rankings quietly measure what's good for business. We built one that measures what's good for the people who do the work. The results look different than you might expect.

Today, we join the people of Norway and communities around the world in mourning the death of His Majesty King Harald V.

For more than 35 years, King Harald served Norway with devotion, warmth and a deep commitment to bringing people together. His life of service reflected values that resonate deeply with the Augustana community β€” respect for others and a belief in the strength found through connection, inclusion and shared understanding.

Our Norwegian heritage has helped shape who we are for more than 165 years. Generations of students, alumni, faculty and friends have strengthened the ties between Augustana and Norway through study, scholarship, friendship and cultural exchange.

King Harald joined Augustana and its sister universities in Oslo las year for the celebration of 100 years of Norwegian-American educational cooperation. His presence at that gathering was a powerful reminder of the enduring ties among our institutions and countries, as well as the important role education has played in sustaining them across generations.

As Norway mourns its king, Augustana extends its heartfelt condolences to Queen Sonja, the Royal Family, our alumni and friends in Norway, and all those who are grieving his loss.

We give thanks for King Harald’s remarkable life of leadership and service.
