Today, a group of our FYHS 11th and 12th grade talmidim had the special opportunity to visit the cRc and hear from the Av Beis Din, Rabbi Reiss shlit”a. As a culmination of their year learning Maseches Gittin, the students gained firsthand insight into the halachos and process of a Get, bringing their learning to life in a meaningful and practical way. The visit concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where talmidim had the chance to ask thoughtful questions and deepen their understanding of this important area of halacha.

We continue to reflect on the lives of those who helped shape our Yeshiva and community.

Mr. Allen Lapporte ז״ל was one such individual—a quiet, humble presence whose kindness and dedication left a lasting impact on so many. His legacy is felt not through recognition, but through the countless lives he touched along the way.

Read more about his remarkable life and enduring influence—we had the privilege of speaking with his wife Doris to gain deeper insight into the person he was:

There are individuals whose lives leave an imprint not through public recognition, but through quiet consistency, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to others. Mr. Allen Lapporte, ז״ל, was one such individual. In reflecting on his life, and in conversations with his wife, Doris, a picture em...

Special shout out to our FYHS talmidim who continue to learn Shnayim Mikrah on a consistent basis! Now well into Sefer Vayikra, the 25 boys who finished Sefer Shmos were treated to a special outing to TopGolf this past Thursday. This year, the Yeshiva launched the Shnayim Mikrah Challenge to encourage the talmidim to learn Shnayim Mikrah and take a test on their learning every Sunday. Over 40 students have participated this year with 25 sticking to it every single week! We're so proud of their dedication and accomplishments and may they continue to grow in Torah and Yiras Shamayim!

This past Sunday, FYHS held a Yom Iyun focused on “Sefiras HaOmer and Elevating Speech,” emphasizing the power and responsibility of proper speech. The program featured opening remarks from Rabbi Ephraim Goldman, followed by interactive shiurim led by rabbeim on topics including shmiras halashon, personal refinement, and the impact of our words. Students had the opportunity to choose sessions, engage in reflection, and think critically about how their speech shapes their identity. The Yom Iyun concluded with an address from Rabbi Yaakov Sussman, leaving talmidim with practical takeaways to elevate their daily interactions.
