SRU Mathematics and Statistics Welcome to the Mathematics and Statistics program at Slippery Rock University! Hello!

Our page highlights achievements of our students and faculty, and also features our many activities and events during the school year. The Mathematics and Statistics program at Slippery Rock University is a leader in high-quality, student-centered math/stats instruction within an energetic and welcoming environment. We offer a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in your choice of four concentration

s – Actuarial Science, Secondary Education, Statistics, or Mathematical Science – and a Master of Science in Data Analytics. As a student in our department, you will enjoy a strong sense of community through our many student clubs, activities, and dynamic study spaces. You will also have opportunities to interact closely with our dedicated faculty, who are committed to excellence in teaching and eager to get to know you as an individual.

Abby is the first SRU mathematics major to earn this distinction! We are super proud of her!

At just 19 years old, Abby Becker is graduating early with a job offer at a Fortune 500 company — and now she’s earned the top academic honor in Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education.

Congratulations to Abby for becoming the first SRU student since 2014 to receive the Syed Ali-Zaidi Award for Academic Excellence. She’ll be recognized with the award and a $2,500 prize at the PASSHE Board of Governors meeting on April 16.
