EXCITING NEWS: We are now offering a Night BLET program beginning in July. This program is designed for individuals wanting to become law enforcement officers but are unable to attend the daytime program. Train to become a certified Police Officer!

The Town of Benson is currently hiring future police officers. Candidates will earn $12.50/ hour while attending a 17-week Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) class at Johnston Community College. Then, he/she will receive 6-months of on-the-job training (at $15.00/hour).

Following passage of the state exam and a successful probationary period, the cadet will become a fulltime Benson Police Officer and earn $31,430 per year!
