A team of IUSB faculty and local Palliative Care APRNs are hosting a Palliative & End-of-Life Care Workshop on Friday, August 7, 2026, on the IUSB campus. This workshop will be focused on practical, evidence-based approaches to caring for patients and families facing serious illness. Topics include communication, pain and symptom management, grief and bereavement, facilitating family meetings, spiritual care, and more. Participants can earn 5.75 contact hours.

The 2026 semesters tab is for starting MSN Nursing Education or Administration for fall 2026 start.
The 2027 semesters tab is for all three tracks: FNP, Nursing Education or Administration starting spring 2027. FNP only have one entry; every spring semester.
Choose from three tracks:

Congratulations, Chris! We are so proud of you! 🥳

Class of 2026: When Chris Castaneda-Jaramillo arrived at IU South Bend to begin pursuing his nursing degree, he had already earned certifications as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, and Phlebotomist and an associate degree in general studies - all before before graduating high school. Now, Chris has added a Bachelor of Science in Nursing to that extensive list of accomplishments.

During his time at IU South Bend, Chris served as Student Liaison for the Student Nurses Association and Public Relations Officer for the Latino Student Union. He was also a 21st Century Scholar and Fellow, earned Dean’s List recognition from 2022–2026, and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Following graduation, Chris plans to begin his career working in the ICU at Elkhart General Hospital.
