Notre Dame Global Adaptation Initiative

Notre Dame Global Adaptation Initiative The world must adjust to these changes in a way that harnesses human ingenuity and creativity while protecting vital resources.

ND-GAIN, part of the Climate Change Adapation program of the University of Notre Dame Environmental Change Initiative, is focused on building resilience to climate change to better prepare humans and their environment for the coming century. Climate change, population shifts, urbanization and resource scarcity jeopardize the improvements made on many human development goals, particularly in develo

ping nations. ND-GAIN is now part of the Climate Change Adaptation program of the Notre Dame Environmental Change Initiative (ND-ECI), which is tackling the interrelated problems of invasive species, land use, and climate change. ND-ECI has been an integrated leader on climate adaptation for species and ecosystems, as well as coastal and urban infrastructure. This expertise will synergize strongly with ND-GAIN’s previous emphasis on other aspects of human welfare.
