URI Students For Sensible Drug Policy

URI Students For Sensible Drug Policy Meetings for 2019/2020 will be held Mondays 6-7:30 in The Union Room 314. Find us at First Night in front of the Memorial Union in September!

Students for Sensible Drug Policy is an international grassroots network of students who are concerned about the impact drug abuse has on our communities, but who also know that the War on Drugs is failing our generation and our society. SSDP mobilizes and empowers young people to participate in the political process, pushing for sensible policies to achieve a safer and more just future, while fig

hting back against counterproductive Drug War policies, particularly those that directly harm students and youth.

I regret to inform you that URI SSDP will not be applying for Re-Recognition or continuing meetings spring semester due to lack of interest from students. I want to thank everyone who has supported us and helped make this organization what it is! We have accomplished so much in the 12 years as a club on campus and are very sad this chapter must come to an end. If anyone is interested in leadership positions (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer) or just joining for the Fall 2020 - Spring 2021 school year PLEASE reach out so that the club may continue to be recognized by the University! Thank you all for the amazing work done and all we’ve accomplished. The organization will still be here, however we will no longer be recognized by URI. If you have any questions please reach out! Thank you all for a great four years.

Nice to 👀 my opening article for a magazine entitled 'Collectivism' today, where I talk about the tremendous amount of human potential that is within communities suffering from multiple disadvantage & why we need to assist in unlocking it ✊🏼

Supporters of the resolution argue that these drugs have medical and spiritual benefits and have historically been used by some cultures for healing and in rituals.
