The program, now going into its 5th year, has had many of its alumni go on to work at well-known podcasting productions including iHeartRadio, NPR, AIR Media, StoryCorps and more! Because of the growth of the podcasting industry and demand for more capable producers, editors, and engineers โ this yearโs Open House will be centered around โGetting a Job in Podcastingโ with industry insights from Kerry Donahue and Nichole Hill.
Kerry Donahue is an audio journalist and a champion of new audio storytellers. She is the Executive Producer of The Refresh from Insider, a new daily news podcast, and the Executive Producer at Spooler.fm, the technology company changing podcasting. As a trainer, Kerry ran the audio program at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She was the director of training at PRX, and she also created original, recurrent, downloadable audio at Audible before podcasting was a term.
Nichole Hill works with performers, current and aspiring podcasters, and companies to define their concept, develop their narrative, and share their story with others. She specializes in podcast production, story coaching, audio editing, scriptwriting, and project management. Nichole is the creator and host of โThe Secret Adventures of Black Peopleโ podcast featured on Bello Collectives 100 Outstanding Podcasts from 2020 and Indie Wireโs Best of 2020.
