Hola y bienvenidos al curso de Manicura/Tecnología de Uñas de Isothermal Community College impartido en español.
El curso comienza el miércoles 19 de Agosto de 2026 y termina el jueves 3 de Diciembre de 2026. Las clases son los Lunes, Martes, Miércoles y Jueves de 4:00 p.m. a 8:30 p.m. El curso consiste en horas presenciales y 2 horas y media de tarea en línea cada semana para un total de 300 horas.

We were excited to welcome the talented local barber Thad Hill, who has volunteered his time to teach a professional clipper cutting class to our cosmetology students. Opportunities like this give our future beauty professionals hands-on experience, new skills, and inspiration from someone who is making a difference in our community.

‼️To all of our clients‼️

The Student Center parking lot will be undergoing a major renovation over the next 6 weeks.
During this construction we will ensure the following:
1. There will always be a path and stairway open, available for foot traffic to flow from the parking lot down to an entrance to the Student Center.
2. There will always be parking available in the lot.
3. We will alternate closing sides while construction is ongoing.

Please pay attention to the cones to determine if the North or South side of the lot is dedicated for parking. This will alternate throughout the project.

If clients have any questions about parking, you may call the department.

🏀 Summer isn't over yet! There's still time to get your child on the court at Isothermal's Patriot Basketball Youth Camp.

Rising 3rd-8th graders are invited to spend a week building basketball skills, learning teamwork, and having fun with Coach Kenneth Hines and the Patriot Basketball program.

No basketball experience is needed, just bring energy and a willingness to learn!

The Nail Technology program is an exciting introduction to the world of professional nail care and artistry. This 300-hour course, completed in one semester, provides students with the foundational skills and knowledge needed to begin a successful career in the nail industry. Throughout the program, students learn essential techniques in basic manicures, gel polish manicures, basic pedicures and acrylic nail enhancements. Emphasis is placed on cleaning and disinfection, client communication, and precision in application—skills that are crucial for success in any professional salon setting.
Students also gain valuable real-world experience through our simulated salon environment, where clients from the community are invited to receive services. This hands-on training helps students build confidence and professionalism while refining their technical abilities. The combination of classroom instruction and live practice ensures that graduates are well-prepared to enter the work field. This class is offered during the fall and spring semesters; this program opens the door to a creative and rewarding career where artistry and client care come together. Upon completion, students will be eligible for a licensure exam.
Class starts on August 19th
Class times: 11:00pm - 3:20pm
Class meets: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday

🌟🌟Alumni July spotlight 🌟🌟

This month we are proud to recognize one of our amazing former students who has been successful in the beauty industry. We are so proud of what she has accomplished thus far in her career.

Hi my name is Stella Tallon. I completed the program at ICC and have been a licensed Cosmetologist since 2023. I have always enjoyed all things like hair, makeup and clothing. Since I was young I always knew that this field is where I wanted to be. However, once I started behind the chair was when I realized just how much I truly enjoy making others feel beautiful in their own skin.
Being a cosmetologist is about much more than hair, skin, and nails. It is a career that allows me to make a lasting impact on others lives while expressing my creativity every day.

Gaining clientele is one of the hardest parts of this job. I was determined to stay focused and driven on enhancing my skills which in turn has given me an amazing clientele full of beautiful souls.

Words of encouragement to present students. Don’t give up if it’s something you really want to do! You’re not going to make great money right from the start but staying consistent and getting your name out there is key. Everything takes time and patience but with good skills you can make it very far. Stay focused, stay strong, and keep working hard.
