As National Nurses Week comes to a close, we’re looking back at landmarks across Washington that lit up in honor of nurses and the care they provide every day.

From WSU Spokane’s Academic Center and Center for Clinical Research and Simulation Building to Providence Sacred Heart, MultiCare Deaconess, MultiCare Rockwood, Gesa Pavilion, Spokane Regional Health District, Vancouver’s Life Sciences Building, and the Cougar statue glowing, these moments helped highlight nursing’s impact across our communities.

Thank you to everyone who helped celebrate, advocate for, and recognize nurses this week.

A new tradition begins at WSU Spokane. 🔔

On May 4, nursing students helped dedicate Pages of Care, a new sculpture by artist James Dinh that now stands on the WSU Spokane campus. As part of the inaugural Ring in the Moment ceremony, students rang the bell to mark both the completion of their academic journey and the beginning of what comes next in health care.

Featured students include DNP graduate Paisha Anderson and BSN students Ty Vaeena, Kate Guede, Angel Ikueze, Aanuoluwapol Ajayi, Anishhang Rai, and fellow members of the Class of 2026.

The sculpture reflects themes of healing, resilience, education, and community while creating a new space for reflection and celebration on campus.
