This talk will critically review Hong Kongers’ struggles for freedom against communist China from the Umbrella Movement to the shutdown of the only local pro-democratic newspaper Apple Daily in the past decade. Prof. Choy will conclude with the profound impacts of the events on the fallen city and the current Sino-U.S. relationship

A week from today, on February 12, Ness Auditorium in Wittenberg's Hollenbeck Hall will the Margaret Ermarth Institute will be co-sponsoring a talk by internationally renowned bioethicist and health humanities scholar Rosemarie Garland Thomason. She will be exploring how the visual arts and the humanities help us to engage in the work of medicine and care. We hope to see you there!

He is a Hungarian professor visiting from Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary who will give a history of Budapest in relation to its environment.
