Please come to a joint event for students sponsored by MSU’s Student Library Science Association (SLSA) and 417 Librarians!

SLSA members or those interested in joining the association are encouraged to attend. We'll meet from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Springfield Brewing Company, 305 S. Market in Springfield, (417) 832-TAPS.

Please join us for delicious food and great conversation. As usual, it will be Dutch treat and all library enthusiasts are welcome! Please forward this information to anyone else you think might like to join us.

Future events will be posted to the listservs for MLA, SWRASL, and SISLT, a private email group (email [email protected] to join), and our Facebook group, 417 Librarians, and SLSA’s page.

Presented by Dr. Angela Hornsby-Gutting, MSU Associate Professor of History. Free and open to the public, and feel free to bring your lunch!

Throwback Thursday: The 1922-23 Story Telling Club, whose purpose was "(a) To train ourselves in the art of story telling. (b) To be helpful and give pleasure to others." They conducted a regular story hour at "the Public Library, Children's Home, and various other institutions where help is desired."
