Alpha Kappa Lambda is requesting donations that will be entirely contributed to our Philanthropy! Our Spring Philanthropy is a Sand Volleyball Tournament to raise su***de awareness and aide in the ongoing fight for su***de prevention in honor of our late brothers, Matthew Hart and Tyler Clemmons. All of our proceeds raised are benefit The Missouri Su***de Prevention Project, which is detailed further below. Thank you for your support. All contributions are greatly appreciated!!!
The Missouri Su***de Prevention Project (MSPP) is a joint project between the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) and the MIMH. The MSPP primarily targets youth-serving organizations and at-risk youth and young adults ages 10 to 24. The project has sponsored training for more than 200 instructors for a variety of su***de prevention training programs. Instructors have trained more than 75,000 people across the state including school staff, students, mental health providers, first responders and other community members. In addition to gatekeeper training, MSPP has funded depression screenings, support groups for survivors of su***de loss, mini-grants to local youth-serving agencies and su***de prevention on college campuses. The MSPP has also sponsored and coordinated nine annual state conferences which have brought together national leaders in the field of su***de prevention. The MIMH is responsible for project management, training, technical assistance and evaluation.
