A long-standing staple of the Springfield skyline, the Myers Hall cupola has served as a visible reminder of Wittenberg’s 180-plus-year legacy, one defined by academic excellence, strength, engaged learning, and the passing of light.

The cupola has weathered storms and time, all while preserving breathtaking views of campus and our extended community. Recognizing its importance to all, the Restore the Red campaign seeks to bring the cupola back to prominence while also ensuring Myers’ exterior can return to its beloved traditional color.

Since 2003, hundreds of Wittenberg students have served in the Southern African Kingdom of Lesotho, working on projects designed to help the most vulnerable children there. Founded by Professor of History Scott Rosenberg, Lesotho Honorary Counsel and director of Wittenberg’s Peace Corps Prep Program, this service-learning opportunity has again inspired students to learn and work alongside the Basotho people. It’s June, and that means wedding season! For many alumni couples who fell in love at Wittenberg, Myers Hall serves as a grand backdrop for beautiful wedding portraits that symbolize memories and lifelong connections.

Restore the Red so that current and future Tigers can continue to capture milestone moments in front of this historic and beloved building. Because of generous support from our alumni and friends, we’re well on our way to painting Myers Hall and renewing the structure’s iconic cupola to prominence. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference. If you haven’t made a gift yet, now’s the time to pass your light as we Restore the Red: https://tinyurl.com/RestoretheRed
