If you want to audition for acceptance as a music major or minor, contact us at [email protected], or call 417.836.5648. If you want to participate in the Pride Marching Band but do not want to be a music major or minor, contact the University Bands office: [email protected], or 417.836.5454. Financial aid for incoming freshmen is available through the Pride Marching Band. Additional scholarships are available to sophomores, juniors, and seniors through scholarship auditions held each spring. We had an amazing time learning, listening, and making music with Josh throughout his visit at Missouri State University. From working with our Orchestra to his inspiring recital and masterclass, Josh shared so much knowledge, experience, and musical insight with our students.

Thank you, Josh, for inspiring our students and reminding us all why we love making music! 🎶

We had such a fun day with THE JOSH JONES today!! 🥁✨

Josh visited our university Orchestra and gave us some really useful tips to help make our music even better. In addition, Josh gave a wonderful recital tonight that inspired all of us!!

If you missed it today, that’s OK! Tomorrow at 6:00 PM, Josh will be joining the Percussion Studio for a wonderful master class/clinic. We’re so excited and can’t wait to learn from Josh!!

Studio Class today was extra special! Our senior students, Lily and Lyndon, gave a presentation sharing some real tips and advice with the studio. 🥁🎶

One of my favorite ideas from their presentation was “The Secret 3rd Wolf.” The three wolves represent the three important sides of every music student: a student, a musician, and a human being. 🐺🐺🐺 It’s easy to focus on being a good student and musician, but we also need to remember the third wolf—to take care of ourselves and enjoy life outside of school and music. ❤️

We thought this was such an important message to share with our younger students, especially at the beginning of the semester. College can get busy quickly, but finding a healthy balance is an important part of becoming both a better musician and a happier person!

Thank you, Lily and Lyndon, for sharing your experiences and wisdom with the studio! 💛🐺
