Mary Church Terrell (1863 - 1954) was one of the first Black women in the U.S. to earn a college degree. She advocated for racial equality and for Black women to be included in the women’s suffrage movement.

In 1950, at the age of 86, she challenged segregated seating at restaurants and won. During the civil rights movement, this was a major breakthrough.

Mark your calendar or planner for upcoming events and meetings! All are welcome.

February 28th is the Pizza Party Social! Stop in anytime between 12pm and 2pm to grab a slice of pizza on the way home or to your next class.

On March 13th, we will be having our second monthly meeting. We will be designing and picking t-shirt layouts for the Fall 2024 semester, and having snacks!

The Feed the People gardening project starts back up on April 2nd! If you are interested in helping out between now and then, please email Brianna at [email protected].

The third meeting of the semester will be held on April 10th, same time and location as the last one! Details to come on what we will be doing for that meeting, but register on Triton Connect and check your emails for more information!

Unfortunately, the cold and gloomy winter months can make it difficult to engage in self care. At SWSA, we believe self care can help reset the body and mind.
Spending 10-15 minutes per day can make a difference! Below, are some more self care tips:
* Listen to a podcast
* Journal
* Exercise
* Watch your favorite movie
* Make a self-care music playlist
