UMSL German Student Association The UMSL German Student Association is an organization for students who are interested in German language or culture. Louis.

GESA aims to organize and promote events that relate to German culture on campus as well as off campus. The Purpose of this Organization shall be to promote awareness of the German culture and language at the University of Missouri-St. The goal of GESA is to organize and promote events related to German culture and language on campus, including events such as Kaffeestuden, where students can socia

lize. GESA wants to reach out to local schools to promote learning of the German language. Any student can become a member of GESA. Speaking or being German is not a requirement. If you want to learn more about Germany or the organization, you can go to the German Cultural Center in SSB 445, which has books, movies, and games. It is also the location of Kaffeestunden.

Friends of UMSL'S GSA: I am currently in route to Germany and Austria and will be back-packing throughout for the next two months (pretty sweet graduation present to myself). :D

Join the German Culture Center on Thursday for a lecture and then special presentation by Professor Detlef Junker from the University of Heidelberg. The lecture is called "The Widening Atlantic: Market Gap, War Gap, God Gap" and will explore the three substantial challenges facing Europe and the US.
It will be held Thursday (Oct 29th) at 11 A.M. in Social Sciences & Business Building (SSB), Room 331. After the lecture, Professor Junker will be in the GCC (Suite 427) to discuss the M.A. American Studies program at the University of Heidelberg (around 12:30).
