I’ve been quietly working behind the scenes on something that feels both exciting and a little vulnerable to share…

My re-designed website is live.

When you own a one-person service business, and that one person is you, it doesn’t feel like just a website. It’s a reflection of your heart, your values, your worries that keep you up at night, and the way you show up for families. Putting that into words, and then sharing it publicly, feels a bit like opening a door for all the world to see.

If you have a moment to take a look, I’d love for you to visit. And if you know a growing family who could use steady, warm support in those early postpartum weeks, I’d be honored if you shared it with them.

Thank you for being here and supporting my work. I appreciate you.

While there’s so much attention on what you need to care for a new baby, the postpartum period can also be an opportunity to care for your relationship in new, intentional ways. As Emily Oster once said, “Don’t worry about buying a bottle warmer. Worry about your relationship.”

Here’s a new blog post with some simple, realistic tips on how to stay connected with very little time and sleep, support each other well, and keep your relationship steady through all the change.

If you’re in this season, or preparing for it, I hope you’ll find it helpful!

If your babies are older, what’s one tip you would share with a new parent?

Welcoming a baby can put stress on a relationship, but these tips from a St. Louis postpartum doula will help new parents remember each other's needs and find moments of connection.

This is a hard week for me as I’m doing my final shifts with three different families. These goodbyes are emotional for me after getting close to families over a few months, though they’re really “see you laters” as I love keeping in touch for years to come.

One of my moms wrote the sweetest card for me, and when I read the words, “You are the rock the waves crash on - so strong and steady,” I got tears in my eyes. What a compliment, and her words are a gift that I will treasure forever.

It’s such an honor to be able to support parents in those early weeks when those waves feel overwhelming, with long nights, feeding challenges, physical recovery, and much more hitting all at the same time. The opportunity to be a calming presence when things feel hard is not something I take lightly, and it’s one of the many reasons I have the best job in the world.

One of the most common questions I get from new parents is: “How are we supposed to feed ourselves right now??”

When you’re in the midst of life with a new baby, it can feel impossible to care for yourselves and prepare healthy meals and snacks.

That’s why I’m so happy to introduce you to Amber Fisher! I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Amber and I’m delighted to spotlight her talents. She offers in-home meal prep services tailored to your preferences and dietary needs. She’s available for ongoing meal prep or one-time private chef services for special occasions.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by the idea of cooking during those early weeks with your baby, or while you adjust to returning to work after maternity/paternity leave, I encourage you to chat with Amber to see how she can help. She’s currently accepting new clients!

Feel free to reach out to her directly through her website or message me if you’d like an introduction.

Amber Fisher is a St. Louis-based food stylist, recipe developer, and private chef — available for brand campaigns, editorial shoots, and private dining.

I had the tremendous pleasure of working with 15 families in 2025, and for the first time in my whole career as a doula, had a very balanced year of boy and girl babies!

These onesies each represent a special new baby who joined the world this year, and my time with each of these families taught me new things, brought special connections, and started lasting relationships. I am so grateful for each of these families who trusted me to support them this year.

Happy new year to all!
