Argus-02 is set to deploy tomorrow at 10am CST from the ISS!

You watch the live stream (which will begin at 9:45am) on the link below or join us at Parks College, Saint Louis University's rotunda at 9:30am to enjoy this moment with us.

After deployment, we are expecting to hear from Argus-02 not earlier than Thursday morning, as the spacecraft needs to charge up before beginning operations.

This is the stream of the Argus-02 student satellite deployment from the International Space Station.

Meet Argus-02, a 1U Cubesat with a twofold mission: to characterize the effects of radiation in data storage in Low Earth Orbit, and to serve as a stepping stone towards SSRL's next project, DORRE.

Argus-02 will support future SSRL work by running ARES, a neural network trained to visually recognise events using AI techniques to automatically detect and sense natural events, such as auroras, thunderstorms or meteors.

SSRL has won the first round of the University Nanosatellite Program 10 Competition!

The UNP10 Competition is a national 2-year design competition hosted by the U.S. Air Force which will provide SSRL with a "rigorous concept-to-flight-ready spacecraft development process centered on systems engineering principles and practices". Through this incredible experience, students will be able to gain valuable experience, knowledge, and networking opportunities. The Lab will also receive more funding and launch opportunities for future projects. We are very excited to be a part of such a rewarding program and we cannot wait to see what the next few years have in store for us!
