UMSL Global Established in 1968 by Dr. Edwin H. Fedder Louis.

UMSL Global promotes understanding of other peoples and cultures through international and multicultural programming at the University of Missouri-St. We strive to internationalize the campus to ensure that students graduate with a rich and vibrant global competency we believe is necessary in today’s world. In addition, the center:

• provides international experiences for UMSL students

• provide

s services for international students and scholars, including recruiting, admissions, immigration, orientation, taxation issues, and non-academic counseling

• oversees the International House (in cooperation with Residential Life)

• provides passport services

• works with area organizations to enhance the region's culural life and economic development

UMSL Global staff members are internationally-oriented and appreciative of people from other countries and cultures.

As Mirthweek draws to a close, Global Students & Experiences (GS&E) is thrilled to look back this week and to share that during the 2026 Student Leadership Awards our own Ellie Reiser, Global Student Programs Coordinator, has received the Individual Office of Student Involvement Service Award! In addition, Global Students & Experiences is honored to be the recipient of the Departmental Office of Student Involvement Service Award!

After a year of transition and growth, this recognition is especially meaningful to our team. We are humbled to be acknowledged for our continued commitment to fostering connection, belonging, and community for UMSL students.

We are grateful to be part of the Division of Student Affairs and to serve alongside our colleagues and friends in the Office of Student Involvement (Office of Student Involvement working together to help people find their people and feel at home on campus.

An additional congratulations to the Vietnamese Student Association for their Most Innovative Program Award for their Lunar New Year Program this year!
