Another good resource for patients to connect with others is “Hearing Journey”, which is a wonderful and warm online community made up of CI candidates, AB recipients, parents, and professionals. Advanced Bionics has set up some consumer webinars for CI candidates as well as AB recipients. For those who are considering a cochlear implant, there are both adult and pediatric webinars. Washington University School of Medicine is currently restricting patient appointments to those that are classified as medically urgent. The Cochlear Implant Program, therefore, has very limited availability to see patients in the office. We are still taking phone calls and e-mails. We will provide remote support along with the cochlear implant manufacturers. Our goal is, as always, to keep everyone hearing optimally through this time.
