The club is comprised of students from Saint Louis University, who practice 5 days a week in preparation for races. As a club, SLU Crew races in regattas in both fall and spring including: Head of the Rock, Head of the H***h, Upper Midwest Collegiate Sprints, and Lake Shawnee Spring Classic. Not only does the club practice and race as a team, but there are also spontaneous team bonding activites.

If you are intrested in giving rowing a try, check out Saint Louis University Club Rowing; it's also a great way to make friends.

It is with great sadness that SLU Crew announces the passing of former Head Coach, Scott Allison on Friday, October 14. Scott served as the Head Coach of Saint Louis University’s Rowing Club from 2001 to 2016. Anyone who knew him knew that Scott had an unmatched passion for rowing. As a founding member of Saint Louis Rowing Club, and the first rowing coach for Saint Louis University, Scott volunteered a large portion of his life to developing rowers at the high school, collegiate, and masters level.

If you were lucky enough to sit next to him at a team dinner or ride along with him in the launch, you’d also know that Scott lived life to the fullest, with all the stories and wisdom to go with it. He was a kind, intelligent man who brought out the best in anyone with a good attitude and a desire to learn. We are blessed to have shared so many good memories with him and words cannot express how deeply he will be missed in our hearts. If you have a memory or story you would like to share with us, please leave a comment below. We would love to read them.

Rest in Peace Scott Allison (1940-2022)

Scott’s family has allowed us to share the following excerpt:

“A life-long advocate of scientific inquiry, Scott donated his body to medical sciekknce at Washington University in St. Louis. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the St. Louis Science Center or St. Louis Public Radio would honor Scott’s dedication to science, curiosity, and inquiry, and support institutions that Scott was passionate about.”
