Character and kindness earn a full ride! 🎓✨

We are incredibly proud to highlight the latest news coverage from WABI TV5 featuring the second winner of our TikTok Challenge: Messalonskee High School senior, Adriana Pettengill!

Adriana blew the selection committee away with her heartfelt video showing how she supports her Nana with everyday tasks. At Saint Joseph's College of Maine, we believe that a student's heart, character, and community impact are just as valuable as their academic transcript.

This full-ride scholarship (covering tuition, room, and board) not only honors Adriana's compassion but also continues a beautiful family legacy—her grandmother is a proud SJC Nursing alumni! We can’t wait to welcome Adriana to Standish this fall, where she will major in Business Administration and join the Monks’ Division III Field Hockey and Lacrosse teams.

It’s time to gather, reminisce, and celebrate the wonderful relationships built right here at Saint Joseph’s College! While we are officially commemorating class years ending in 6’s and 1’s, all SJC Alumni are invited to join us for an unforgettable summer weekend on our beautiful campus.

🎓 A Legacy of Mercy | Commencement 2026

Under the bright spring sky on our beautiful campus in Standish, Saint Joseph’s College of Maine proudly celebrated the Class of 2026 during this year’s Commencement ceremonies.

This unforgettable weekend honored the resilience, leadership, and compassion of our graduates while also recognizing a true champion of service, Melissa Skahan, Vice President of Mission Integration and Support Services at Northern Light Mercy Hospital, who received an honorary degree for her transformative work supporting vulnerable families and communities throughout Maine.

From the Baccalaureate Mass and Nursing Pinning Ceremony to welcoming online learners from 18 states to campus, Commencement 2026 reflected the enduring spirit of Mercy, community, and purpose that defines Saint Joseph’s College.

As our newest alumni begin their next chapter, we know they will continue to lead with compassion, integrity, and a search for truth at the center of their lives and careers.

💙 Character and kindness earn a full ride! 💙

We are proud to announce the second winner of the TikTok Challenge! 🎓✨

Join us in celebrating Messalonskee High School senior Adriana Pettengill, who was officially awarded a full-ride scholarship to Saint Joseph's College of Maine at a special ceremony in the school’s Performing Arts Center.

Instead of just looking at transcripts, this scholarship rewards students who put compassion into action. Adriana’s winning video captured the sweet, everyday moments spent helping her Nana around her apartment.

This incredible milestone is also a beautiful family legacy, Adriana's grandmother is a proud alum of the SJC Nursing program!

When she steps onto our Standish campus this fall as a Business Administration major, she will also be joining the Monks Athletics’ Division III Field Hockey and Lacrosse teams. Fun fact: Our Women's Lacrosse Head Coach (and recent GNAC Coach of the Year!) Lydia Dexter ’21 is also a Messalonskee alum! 🥍💙

On Friday, May 8, we gathered for one of the most cherished traditions at St. Joe’s, the Nursing Pinning Ceremony. 🕯️✨

This wasn't just an event; it was a transition. The pinning ceremony marks the moment our students move from being learners to being healers. It represents their dedication to the "Care, Console, Cure, Fortitude, and Hope " and their commitment to providing compassionate care in the spirit of Mercy.
