Stanford Public Policy

Stanford Public Policy The Stanford interdisciplinary program in Public Policy has been a strong undergraduate major since 1980. The program now offers an M.P.P.

Stanford Public Policy degree programs include an undergraduate major, a coterminal MA, a 1 year MA degree, a 2 year professional MPP and a certificate in Policy Analysis. (a two-year professional degree) and an M.A. in Public Policy (a one-year degree). Both master's programs are open only to Stanford graduate students, recent Stanford alumni (2009-present) and graduating Stanford seniors. In ad

dition, the program began accepting applications for a coterminal MA degree in Autumn 2009. The graduate and undergraduate programs share common educational goals: rigorous training in public policy research and analysis.

The graduate students kicked off the year with orientation, followed by a pizza party and ice cream, right off campus on a very hot night. Here's wishing everyone a successful academic year ahead!

We are excited to celebrate commencement with the Public Policy undergraduate and graduate students on June 16th.

At our annual end of year celebration in May, Student Servcies Offer, Kelly Walsh, read a poem that she wrote to the graduate students including the names of all 24 graduating students.

Dear graduates of the class of 2024
Congratulations are in order, you all passed the core

There are 24 of you this year, the coterms number 18
That’s 75% of the class, the most we’ve ever seen

Let me tell you about your cohort and who’s graduating with you
Your policy interests are varied, and you are a passionate crew

There are four earning an MPP: Declan, Jeff, Joanna and Jingyue
Plus Taylor and Carmen will receive their MA, this year there are only two

Erick, Joven, Liam and Noah weren’t done yet and stayed for a 5th year
Diving deep into their varied concentrations without any fear

Then we have our econ majors: Ivy, Lukas, James, Xin, Jackson, Iskander and Josh
Some started thinking about Pub Pol when they met Greg, in his seminar for frosh

Finally our Track C coterms: Yoo Ra, Nazanin, Jeremy, Allyse, Caetano, Glede and Vivian
Who hail from IR, CS, Poli Sci, Hum Bio and our first ever Fem Gen

The ten week quarters flew by and now you are almost done
You learned many new skills and squeezed in some fun

You enjoyed dinners at Greg’s home and grad student dinners close by
Plus some of you went to Washington DC, receiving sponsorship to fly

Before I end this poem, you may be wondering if I used chat gpt
Well, the answer is NO, it was 100% created lovingly by me

Now it’s time to raise a glass to toast YOU, the class of 2024
Go out and change the world, we’ll remember you forever more
