Do you work on with complex, dynamic global challenges?

We are looking for organizational project partners for our class Collaborating with the Future in Spring quarter. Work with talented Stanford graduate students to gain insight into how your team can drive system transformation towards greater business and impact opportunity while creating a sustainable future.

Projects from previous years have led to strategic shifts in organizations such as UNDP, The Nature Conservancy, Mastercard, and more.

It's a wrap for our 2019 System Transformation Masterclass!

Last week, 26 global leaders from across industries gathered at Stanford University to learn about Systems Leadership - a new framework for leadership adapted to the 21st century.

We took the time to discuss the leadership philosophy behind setting audacious goals and influencing colleagues, but participants also left with a plan for how they would begin their systems leadership journey back in their organizations.

We owe a huge thank-you to all of our participants for the enthusiasm, creativity, and work ethic they brought to the workshop each day.

Dates for the 2020 System Transformation Masterclass will be released soon. Join our mailing list or follow us on twitter so you can catch the updates.

Last year, Banny and Annette represented ChangeLabs as part of a fifteen-person writing sprint hosted by WWF. The resulting book has just been released as a free, online resource.

"The Art of Systems Change: Eight guiding principles for a green and fair future" is intended as a starter pack for WWF and other organizations that seek to incorporate systems change into their work.

The book is authored by the Fuller Collective - made up of Stanford ChangeLabs, six representatives from WWF, and seven other global experts. Over the course of three days, the Collective wrote and edited the book together, a creative challenge for many that yielded a satisfying product.

While not comprehensive, "The Art of Systems Change" explains the fundamentals of systems thinking and proposes leading principles to help individuals and groups committed to tackling global challenges with sustainable solutions.

We encourage you to read through it and share your reactions with us.https://osf.io/7k8ng/

Banny was in Denmark to sit on the Danish Design Council International Advisory Board. “One of the emerging potentials of the Design Council is [how] it could guide the way in which the design community could be catalytic in making large transitions.” Check out the reflections from the meeting here:

Banny Banerjee spent this last week at the Symposium in Vienna, Austria. The purpose of the symposium was to build a new research agenda for biodiversity and make its connection to overall clearer to the public.

Banny joined other global experts from major research institutions and NGOs for several days of brainstorming on policy and ways to rethink how to address the biodiversity challenge. Check out more information on the Biodiversity Revisited initiative here: https://www.biodiversity-revisited.earth/

And we're off to another big quarter with Collaborating with the Future: Innovating Large-scale Sustainable Transformations at the d.school!

This year we have six big challenges for our students to work on - issues ranging from plastics in the Philippines to education in China to pollution in Mexico! We're always amazed and impressed by what the students are able to accomplish - of course, not without the initial nervousness of taking on such big challenges!
