We love sorrel!

This festive punch, made from hibiscus, is the taste of the holidays throughout the islands. It is also a close cousin to African-American "red drink," described as "liquid soul."

We partnered with Cardinal Calypso to help Caribbean islands devastated by recent hurricanes - join us! We invite you to:

1. Please click below to donate to our drive organized through GlobalGiving, a charity working with local organizations to provide relief on affected islands such as Dominica, Puerto Rico, & the U.S. Virgin Islands.
2. Save the date for our Benefit Concert happening January 18th at 7pm, featuring music, dance & storytelling! Ticket info available soon.

Please share! After Hurricanes Irma & Maria left thousands homeless and millions without power, the road to rebuilding will be long & difficult. Giving just a little can go a long way towards helping those who have lost more than we can imagine. THANK YOU!

In the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, two Stanford students worked with San Francisco for Puerto Rico to organize a donation drive today. If you’re local, please consider dropping off canned foods, water cleaning tablets and filters, baby food and formula, D batteries and personal and feminine hygiene products. Drop off spots on Friday: Lane Library before 5 PM and Alway Courtyard from 5-6 PM.

Hurricanes continue to ravage Caribbean islands, and we appeal to everyone to keep our region in your thoughts and prayers. The Caribbean community at Stanford stands with all those affected by these disasters. Please stay tuned as we will soon be posting about relief efforts, and how the Stanford community can assist.

Our hearts are with all Caribbean residents affected by Hurricane Irma so far, as well as other islanders/Floridians who have not yet been hit, and those who are under hurricane watch as Jose approaches.

Images show the extent of the devastation in the eastern Caribbean islands directly in the path of Hurricane Irma.

As Hurricane Irma approaches the Caribbean region, we're keeping friends, family members and all Caribbean residents in our thoughts and prayers. The Category 5 hurricane is currently in the eastern Atlantic, and is expected to move through the Leeward islands within the next few days.
