Dr. Sharon Oswald, long-serving dean of Mississippi State University’s College of Business, has announced her retirement effective July 1, 2023.

Dean Oswald has led MSU’s College of Business since 2011, steering the unit through an era of growth in academic programs and support for entrepreneurship. Her career has spanned more than 30 years as a teacher and administrator.

Our College of Business family is thankful for Dean Oswald's 12 years of leadership and her tireless effort in advancing Mississippi State's College of Business on a national scale. We have been busy finalizing our Springboard Week orientation for the MBA Class of 2023 next week! Who doesn't love a good theme? Especially if we can mention our Bulldog's historic NCAA College World Series win!

Calling alums! A message from our MBA Director Angelia Knight:

I hope that you will be available Thursday, May 26th for a very special event. The on-campus MBA program will be having its Annual Springboard Week (orientation) activities at that time and the 26th is particularly special because we will be having an individual and team speaking competition called Speaker’s Edge. We’ve updated this competition from previous years because it looks like we’ll be welcoming almost 100 students this year!

In order to keep the students on track, I’m asking faculty, staff, alums and corporate partners to act as judges. Would you be available that day to act in that role? We need judges morning only, afternoon only, and all day! That way, if you would like to volunteer, you can plan your time according to what best fits your schedule. Judge training will be provided and materials will be sent to you beforehand for your review. Also, lunch will be provided as a thank you for your assistance.

In all, about 40-50 judges are needed to pull off this important part of Springboard Week, and I hope you’ll choose to participate. If you aren’t available at that time, please consider passing this message along to someone in your office who would be interested.
