After more than two decades of dedicated service to Mississippi State University Libraries, we celebrate the retirement of Dr. Nancy Bardwell, Special Projects Coordinator.

From 2003–2026, Dr. Bardwell’s leadership, expertise and commitment helped shape our libraries and support generations of students, faculty and colleagues. Her impact extends far beyond projects completed and can be seen in the relationships built and the lasting contributions she made to our university community.

Please join us in thanking Dr. Bardwell for 23 years of service and wishing her all the best in this exciting new chapter. Congratulations on your retirement, Dr. Bardwell, and thank you for everything you’ve done for MSU Libraries! 🎉📚💛

⭐️ Student Spotlight: Emma Baldwin ⭐️

Emma Baldwin, from Saltillo, Mississippi, recently earned her Bachelor of Accountancy from Mississippi State University and will continue her studies this fall in MSU’s Master of Professional Accountancy program. After graduation, she plans to begin her career as an Audit Staff Accountant with Reynolds, Bone & Griesbeck while pursuing her CPA license.

“I was interested in working at the library because it gave me the opportunity to stay involved on campus while continuing my education. As a Graduate Assistant, I have enjoyed being part of an environment that supports student success and learning.”

Research excellence has a new address in Mississippi.

As Mississippi State University Libraries celebrates election to the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), we were honored to mark this milestone alongside President Mark E. Keenum, Provost David R. Shaw, and Dean Lis Keith.

ARL membership places MSU among North America’s leading research libraries and reflects years of vision, collaboration, and commitment to advancing discovery, scholarship, and student success. Today, we’re celebrating more than a designation. We’re recognizing the library faculty and staff whose expertise, dedication, and daily work help advance the university’s research mission and made this achievement possible.
